Air France unveils new business class seats

Air France has received its first delivery of a Boeing 777-300ER equipped with its new "Affaires" business class seat and an improved in-flight entertainment system, reports Flightglobal.

The new business class seats feature a fixed shell that helped to ensure privacy for the passenger. The Affaires seats also recline to become a lie-flat bed that measures more than six and a half feet long.

The new in-flight entertainment, which the source reports was specially designed for Air France by Panasonic, lets passengers download programs, read files from a USB key and modify word processor documents.

Air France passengers can also now use an interactive meal service menu on their in-flight entertainment screens, allowing them to download recipes and digitally discuss dining options with other travelers. Passengers in all cabins will have access to refrigerators that will allow them to help themselves to drinks and ice cream.

"The use of new technologies enables Air France to offer a better picture quality. In all cabins, wider touch-sensitive screens are now in 16:9 format and have a faster response time," a spokesperson for the airline told the source.
