Alitalia wins "Best Airline Cuisine" award from Global Traveler

Alitalia, the largest airline in Italy, recently won Global Traveler's Reader Survey Award for "Best Airline Cuisine," reports the International Business Times.

The award was bestowed thanks to this year's introduction of a new menu featuring regional Italian cuisine in the airline's business class, or Magnifica Class, cabins. The menu features a wide variety of products that have been certified as authentically Italian.

Complementing the authentic Italian food, the meal service also includes wine pairings that have been specially selected by the Italian Sommelier Association. The service's linens come from Italian luxury brand Frette, the tableware was crafted by designer Richard Ginori and the personal care items were made by Culti.

"We're honored to win this award," Andrea Stolfa, the executive vice president for marketing, network and revenue management at Alitalia, told the source. "Since implementing our new service in Magnifica Class, we have received high customer satisfaction for the quality of the menus and cuisine. With the new Italian menus we offer our customers a real high quality 'Made in Italy' experience."
