Conde Nast Travler readers honor Virgin America

The readers of Conde Nast Traveler have selected Virgin America as the domestic airline with the Best Premium Class for the fourth year in a row, according to the results of Conde Nast Traveler's 2011 Business Travel Poll.

Virgin achieved this honor thanks to the more than 25,000 Conde Nast Traveler readers who helped the news outlet select the airlines, airports and hotels that they find most appealing. In the end, Virgin managed to achieve a score of 90.2 out of 100 possible points. The readers who took part in this process were considered to be business travelers.

"We're humbled that the discerning business travelers who fly the most have once again ranked our service the best in the domestic skies," said David Cush, president and chief executive officer of Virgin. "Our goal is to keep our guests comfortable, connected and productive at 35,000 feet, and to many of our frequent travelers, our flights really do offer an office in the sky."

Airline officials added that since its launch in 2007, Virgin has managed to build a loyal following of business travelers. This is due to the fact that the carrier offers many of the amenities that these passengers find appealing, including WiFi, power outlets within close proximity to seats and touch-screen entertainment options. In addition, Virgin continues to expand its services into key business markets.

Business travelers who want to spend a little more can purchase first class tickets for Virgin flights. According to the airline's website, this luxury cabin features seats with 55-inch pitch and come equipped with massage settings. In addition to the perks of these leather chairs, passengers can take advantage of unlimited food, beverages and entertainment for the duration of their flights. With the first class airfares also comes the option of two free checked bags. These travelers can also gain access to one of Virgin's airport Clubhouses, which are located in New York City, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco.

As the new issue of Conde Nast Traveler hits the newsstands on September 20, Virgin will show its appreciation to the travelers who bestowed the honor upon the airline by launching its Jet Back to Business fare sale, which will end on September 15 and applies to flights that take place between September 15 and 30.
