Delta to upgrade business class seats

Business class passengers will notice something new when they set on one of Delta Airlines' Boeing 747 planes.

The airline recently announced that it will be removing all of the current seats from their business class and will replace them with flat-bed seats in an entirely reconfigured area, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The new seats are scheduled to be installed by 2012 and will feature various amenities including power outlets, USB ports for iPods and video monitors, according to the news source. The new configuration will mean that the window seats will face the window, and center seats will be slightly angled towards each other for people who are traveling together.

Delta also told the news source that the improvements in the seats do not automatically mean the prices for seats in business class will be higher.

The airline is one of many that are investing in flat-bed seats, which can often sell at a higher price points - especially on a long haul flight.ADNFCR-3467-ID-19938922-ADNFCR
