Dragonair creates special first class menu to mark hairy crab season

Hong Kong-based airline Dragonair will serve first class passengers a new line of dishes meant to commemorate the annual hairy crab season, according to PAX International.

The carrier is letting first class travelers choose from among four different dishes made with crab roe, including stuffed marrow with crab roe and a pork dumpling-stuffed scallop with prawn mousse topped with a crab roe sauce.

"Dragonair is famous for its innovative and high-quality inflight menu and we are sure our premium passengers will enjoy the specially created crab roe dishes," Cecilia Leung, general manager of inflight services for Dragonair, told the source.

Dragonair also has plans for future seasonally based menus for the first class cabin, although the source did not offer specifics.

The airline is also seeking to entice first class passengers with drawings for high-tech prizes like a iPad, a Macbook Pro laptop and a Canon EOS 550D camera for those who spend more than HK$500 on inflight sales.

"Our passengers have given us great support during our 25th anniversary year, and to thank them we are organizing this special lucky draw for those making inflight sales purchases," Leung said.
