Ethiopian Airlines releases details of the premium cabin on new Boeing 777-LR jets

Ethiopian Airlines has released details on the interior of its new Boeing 777-LR jets, which will feature upgraded amenities in the Cloud Nine premium cabin.

The new planes, which will be used between Washington, D.C.'s Dulles International Airport and the carrier's hub at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will reportedly shorten flight time on that route by up to four hours. Other cities expected to be served by the jets include Dubai, UAE, and Lagos, Nigeria.

Each new Boeing 777-LR's Cloud Nine premium cabin will feature sleeper seats and a 15.4-inch video screen that offers on-demand audio and video on 85 different channels. Other Cloud Nine amenities include complimentary toiletries (including a toothbrush, toothpaste, lip balm and moisturizer), socks, an eye shade, earplugs, a shoe horn and perfume.

The carrier is also expected to join the Star Alliance airline group, which includes major carriers like United Airlines, US Airways and Continental Airlines. The new partnership is expected to facilitate business travel between East Africa and financial hubs in the United States and Europe.
