Indian carrier Jet Airways brings international cuisine to Mumbai-Delhi business class

Jet Airways, the largest carrier in India, has introduced a new gourmet menu for its business class cabin on flights between Mumbai and Delhi, reports Business Standard.

Starting on December 21, premium passengers on the airline were able to enjoy a selection reflecting international cuisine. Options include Mediterranean roasted vegetable salad with pesto, mozzarella and tomato-stuffed chicken, Parmesan chicken piccata on fettuccine with mushroom cheese sauce and a berry caramel souffle.

The new gourmet food will be served on porcelain flatware designed by Rosenthal, one of Germany's leading luxury crockery makers. The gold border pattern on the plates was designed exclusively for Jet Airways, and the carrier plans to bring the Rosenthal crockery to other routes as well.

"[Mumbai-Delhi] is our prime route in a way, and we are giving it the attention it deserves," Vimal Rai, Jet Airways' general manager for inflight services and operations, told the source. "The creme de la creme travels on these flights, so we can gain maximum visibility and have a major impact by targeting them."
