Qatar Airways voted best airline in Middle East

For travelers looking to travel in luxury, Qatar Airlines may be the new airline of choice for premier class passengers.

Qatar Airways recently announced that it has been voted Best Middle Eastern/African Airline at the 2010 Business Traveler Asia-Pacific Awards. The carrier beat Emirates Airlines and Ethidad which ranked second and third respectively.

The winners were announced at a recent ceremony in Hong Kong. The awards are based on the result of a poll, conducted by Synovate.

The Best Airline Award was given to Singapore Airlines, with runners-up being Cathy Pacific and Qantas. Other category winners were British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

"The yearly awards, which are now given out for 55 categories, reflect the highest accolade Business Traveller readers bestow on travel and hospitality providers who have made their journeys seamless and productive," Business Traveler said in a press release.

Headquartered in Doha, Qatar Airways flies to over 90 destinations, and is currently one of only six airlines to be awarded a five star rating by Skytrax.ADNFCR-3467-ID-19941316-ADNFCR
