Virgin America unveils new first class cabin menu

Virgin America has unveiled a new line of premium dishes that will be served to its first class passengers in the new year, reports SkyClub News.

Dining service in the first class cabin is always complimentary, and Virgin America has designed a line of dishes for every meal of the day. Breakfast options include tropical fruit with Greek-style yogurt, scrambled eggs on scallion biscuits, roasted turkey panini with strawberry panzanella salad, breakfast trifle with rhubarb and freshly baked cinnamon streusel.

Lunch and dinner options reportedly include a southwest chicken wrap, red pepper roulade with eggplant and zucchini, smoked turkey sandwich with peppered becon and brie cheese, tamarind-glazed chicken, tequila and lime-glazed beef filet, truffle wild mushroom with potato pave and a Boursin-stuffed chicken breast with chipotle sweet potatoes.

First class passengers can also choose from a pair of wines - Buehler Vineyards Russian River Chardonnay 2008 and Los Cardos Malbec 2008 - to accompany their meal.

Virgin America, which plans to serve this new menu through March 2011, won the 2009 "Best Domestic Airline for Food" award from Travel + Leisure.
