Bahraini carrier Gulf Air welcomes guests to Heathrow lounge

Bahraini carrier Gulf Air has opened its premium lounge at London Heathrow Airport one month after it first announced that it would construct the facility, reports SkyClub News.

The 6,500-square-foot lounge is one of the largest of its kind in Heathrow's Terminal 4, and its design reflects it Middle Eastern origin thanks to its Arabic architectural influences. The spacious lounge welcomes visitors with an open-plan layout and 13-foot glass walls that look out onto the runway.

Business travelers can work in the lounge's corporate center, which features iMac computers, printers, fax machines and free wireless internet. Those who would rather relax can sit in plush chairs and sofas as they enjoy the facility's mood lighting.

Dining options include a self-service buffet and the Illy Cafe, which allows passengers to enjoy several different blends of Italian coffee.

"With airports increasingly becoming busier, lounges are no longer just a place to wait for flights or transit spots between connections; premium passengers look for an oasis of peace and comfort, expect higher levels of facilities, and personalized service," said Gulf Air CEO Sameer Majali. "I am sure it will be a refreshingly different experience for our premium passengers."
