Cathay Pacific lounge in Hong Kong will re-open soon after extensive renovation

The Wing, Cathay Pacific's acclaimed premium lounge at its hub in Hong Kong, will soon re-open after a renovation aimed at updating its appearance and services, reports Australian Business Traveller.

In general, the main renovation served to increase the amount of space available in both the first and business class portions of the lounge. Foster + Partners, the London-based architectural firm that handled the refurbishment, added 45 Solus Chairs, which serve as workstations and exhibit a modern design, as well as several more classical Chesterfield lounge chairs.

Another important part of the updating process was the addition of more bathing options. Between the first and business class sections of the facility, the number of showers was increased from 16 to 41, and the lounge now also boasts private Cabana rooms with a cozy chair and a soaking tub.

New food options include the Coffee Loft cafe and a larger buffet in the business class section, while the first class section now has a champagne bar, a cocktail bar and a significantly expanded restaurant.

To enter the lounge, passengers must have a premium class ticket on either Cathay Pacific or one of its Oneworld airline alliance partners, including American Airlines.
