Cathay Pacific opens fourth lounge in Hong Kong

Cathay Pacific opened a fourth premium lounge, known as "The Cabin," late last year at its hub at Hong Kong International Airport, reports the Australian.

The new facility was reportedly designed by Foster + Partners, a London-based architectural firm known for its modern style. First and business class passengers on Cathay Pacific flights can find the new lounge near Gate 23 in the airport's central concourse.

Overall, the source calls the decor of the lounge "cool and contemporary," citing a design scheme built around bamboo, Carrara marble, granite and wood detailing. "The Cabin" features floor-to-ceiling windows in each of its five zones, which all feature the carrier's signature Solus lounge chair.

Guests at "The Cabin" can take advantage of a wide range of amenities, including high-speed internet access, large-screen iMac computers, iPads and a videoconferencing suite. The lounge also offers an array of dining options, with made-to-order sandwiches, salads and antipasti from the delicatessen and juices, smoothies and tea available at the bar. Travelers who would rather serve their own meals are also able to eat at the lounge's buffet, which has both hot and cold dishes.
