Gulf Air to open lounge at London Heathrow Airport next monthGulf Air to open lounge at London Heathrow Airport next month
Gulf Air, the flag carrier of the Middle Eastern kingdom of Bahrain, has announced that it will open a new premium lounge at London Heathrow Airport in March of this year, reports Business Traveller.
The new facility, which is slated to open its doors on March 8, will allow the airline's passengers to enjoy the services of a dedicated facility. Currently, travelers flying on Gulf Air have access to the lounge operated by the Skyteam airline alliance. The new Gulf Air lounge will also be open to passengers on the carrier's codeshare flights, including those operated jointly with American Airlines.
The upcoming opening comes after years of planning, as the facility was first announced in 2008. According to the source, Gulf Air initially believed that the lounge would open in March 2009 but was faced with a series of delays that pushed the unveiling back to this year.
Travelers who visit the new Gulf Air lounge will be able to enjoy a luxury seating area with space for 30 people, bathroom and shower facilities, storage for luggage and coats, wireless internet access, free food, TVs, newspapers and magazines.
