LOT Polish Airways to open new lounge at its hub in Warsaw

LOT Polish Airways will open a premium lounge in its hub at Warsaw Chopin Airport next week, according to Business Traveller.

Passengers flying in business class on LOT or any Star Alliance airline will have access to the "Polonez" lounge starting December 22. Star Alliance Gold status members and passengers with HON, Senator or FTL status in Lufthansa's loyalty program will also be able to use the lounge.

Named for a traditional Polish dance, the lounge is located in Warsaw Chopin's Schengen area, meaning that only passengers traveling in Europe's visa-free Schengen zone will be able to reach the entrance.

The Polonez lounge will be open from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm every day to coincide with LOT's flight schedule. The 527 square meter, 74-seat venue will reportedly feature a so-called "wall of greenery" and mini-waterfalls, while visitors can enjoy leather armchairs and sofas. Free wireless internet will be available beginning immediately, and the airline has plans to install PC workstations at a later date.
