Priority Pass unveils new lounge-finding app

Priority Pass, the global network of airport lounges, has unveiled a new app allowing customers to use their iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to find the nearest lounge that participates in the program, reports Australian Business Traveller.

The Priority Pass app uses GPS technology to pinpoint the traveler's location, after which it uses a directory of the program's lounges to find the nearest one. The directory is downloaded in its entirety at the time the app is purchased, so the device equipped with the app does not need internet connectivity to function. This allows travelers to find the closest Priority Pass lounge even when they are in flight.

An additional feature of the app is that it lets travelers save their favorite lounges and find a list of their recent searches, making it easier to find frequently visited lounges.

Priority Pass operates a network of approximately 600 lounges. These lounges can be found in more than 300 cities in over 100 countries, and customers can choose from three different membership plans tailored to fit a range of travel lifestyles.
