Priority Pass users name Finnair Helsinki facility 2011 Lounge of the Year

In a new survey, members of the Priority Pass global lounge access network have named the Finnair Lounge in Terminal 2 at Helsinki Airport as the 2011 Lounge of the Year, reports Australian Business Traveller.

To determine the winner of its annual honor, Priority Pass tallied up more than 40,000 ratings for the 600 lounges included in its network around the world. Some of the world's most acclaimed lounges, however, were not included in the survey due to their not offering access to the organization's members.

"The Finnair Lounge is a deserved winner with innovative design and facilities matched by high standards in refreshments and an excellent, peaceful atmosphere," said Jonathan French of Priority Pass.

One of the top features of the lounge, which is operated by Finnish national airline Finnair, is its new sauna and spa. This facility allows travelers to enjoy beauty treatments, massages and even a pool before they get on their flight.

According to the source, the top lounge in the Asia/Pacific region in Priority Pass' survey was the Asiana Lounge at Incheon International Airport, which is located near Seoul, South Korea.
