Qatar Airways has moved to Terminal 4 at London Heathrow Airport in advance of the construction of a new premium lounge, reports the Financial.
The lounge, which is projected to open sometime in the second half of 2011, will be the first Qatar Airways lounge outside the carrier's hub in Doha. The airline's award-winning Premium Terminal in Doha is a separate building set aside for the use of the carrier's first and business class passengers.
"Qatar Airways' move to Terminal 4 at London Heathrow allows the airline to further enhance our five-star services for our passengers. As one of our busiest routes, London plays an important part in our overall route network and we are delighted to be enhancing our operation here," Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al-Baker told the source.
The airline currently operates six flights each week between London and Doha. Prior to the completion of the upcoming premium lounge, Qatar Airways first and business class passengers can use of Terminal 4's Skyteam lounge. All passengers will enjoy Terminal 4's enhanced baggage facilities as well as its wide selection of dining and shopping options.
