Small businesses have the chance to win tickets on British Airways
Business people, living and working in Bermuda, have the chance to win one of five free round-trip tickets to the UK on British Airways.
The air travel is being offered by the airline in an effort to give some of the island's business people a way to expand their companies. Although companies use conference calling and Skype, British Airways said that research has shown that face-to-face contact is the most effective way to close a deal.
The "Face-2-Face" contest will be held in November in conjunction with the Bermuda Small Business Development Corporation and its Economic Empowerment Zones Agency (EEZA).
In order to compete, businesses will need to submit an essay of up to 500 words, explaining how they would benefit from a meeting in the UK. Applicants must also include who or what organization they would like to meet, while in Britain.
The entries will be judged on the company's goals and objectives, clear vision of how the travel opportunity will benefit the business and the country and style of writing.
Participants will also have the opportunity to be involved in Global Entrepreneurship Week from November 15 - 21, according to the airline.
