Swiss International Air Lines provides premium passengers with special summer meals

This summer, food lovers who fly first or business class on Swiss International Air Lines will receive an extra treat thanks to the carrier's new promotion.

Travelers who purchase first class tickets or business class airfares for flights that are scheduled between June 1 and the end of August will have a chance to experience the airline's SWISS Taste of Switzerland regional culinary program.

SWISS Taste of Switzerland is designed to spotlight a new chef from a different Swiss canton every three months. The delectable creations that passengers have the opportunity of sampling are designed to accentuate a specific region's culinary specialties.

This airline promotion will be available on the carrier's intercontinental services from Switzerland, select inbound intercontinental flights as well as longer European routes. The sophisticated meals that passengers receive on these flights come from the Relais and Châteaux Hotel Le Vieux Manoir in Murten-Meyriez, Western Switzerland.

These summer meals come from the mind of Franz W. Faeh, the 14-GaultMillau-point culinary director of this renowned hotel. Faeh's light and contemporary cuisine is known to incorporate a strong Asian influence. Among the dining options that are available to the airline's premium passengers include poached red snapper fillet with soya sauce and sesame oil and lobster cocktail with papaya salad.

The airline's partnership with Le Vieux Manoir will also provide passengers with exclusive local wine options from Switzerland's Vully region. They can also compliment their meals with a selection of local cheeses, including Le Gruyère AOC, Vacherin Frisé Fribourgeois and L’Armailli de Gruyère.

Swiss International Air Lines has also taken their summer promotion one step further by naming an Airbus A320 in its fleet after the town of Murten, which will now serve as the area's flying ambassador as well.

Aside from fine dining options, Swiss' official website states that the comfort, luxury, tranquility and privacy available in its first class cabin is similar to what passengers might experience onboard a private jet. In addition, passengers can take advantage of express check in and gain access to luxurious airport lounges.

For those with business class tickets, the comfort that is available to passengers in the carrier's business section ensures that they leave the plane feeling refreshed and alert enough to attend their next meeting.
